Different
oils evoke different physical and emotional responses. There are some
that excite us, and some that calm us down. There are some that make us
happy, and some make us pensive. Then there are some that enhance our
spiritual side, and some that heighten our desire for carnal pleasure.
Essential oils are very strong, and a little goes a long way. Some
rules when using essential oils are as follows- never inhale directly
from the bottle ( instead mix 1 or 2 drops into a bowl of
steaming hot water and then place a towel over your head to catch the
steam as you inhale. If you want to use it in your bath, place 5 or 6
drops in the warm water. Using it as a massage oil , 3 or 4 drops of
the appropriate scented oil will suffice.
Below
you will find a list of commonly used essential oils and their effects,
note before using any of these consult with a specialist in
armomatherapy or your family doctor before using them. Although a
handful of scientific studies have been done on armomatherapy which
reinforce the therapeutic value of essential oils, they must be used
properly.
